Alma Verch passed away Saturday
Norwood Times - February 5, 1976

"Alma A. Verch, age 74, of Norwood, passed away January 31, 1976 at Waconia Hospital.

She was born March 14, 1901 at Waconia, daughter of the late Herman and Bertha Guethling Jaekel. She was baptized May 5, 1901 by Pastor H. Luebke and confirmed March 28, 1915 by Pastor W. Friedrich at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia.

She was united in marriage to Paul Verch on February 24, 1925 at Chaska, Minn.

Mrs. Verch is survived by daughter Mrs. Clifford (Clarice) Harmsen of Cologne, sons Virgil of St. Louis Park, Elroy of North Hollywood, California, and Duane of Young America; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers Arthur Jaekel, Carver, Herbert Jaekel, Brownton; sisters Mrs. Marion (Frieda) Hatten, Hutchinson, Mrs. Flora Boettcher, Mayer; sister-in-law Mrs. Henry (Emma) Wandrei, Excelsior.

She was preceded in death by husband Paul on November 25, 1950; also four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were Tuesday, February 3, 2 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, Young America, Pastor Henry J. Fry officiating. Mr. Arthur Fuchs was the church organist and the congregational hymns were "I'm but A Stranger Here", "Oh, How Blest Are Ye.", and "Rock of Ages".

Family prayer service was Monday evening at Paul Funeral Home, Norwood. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Waconia.

Casketbearers were Leon Braun, Delford Beneke, Kenneth Harmsen, Keith Harmsen, Orville Bloomquist, and Earl Hatten."
