Richard Verch Buried Monday

Interment Took Place in Mount Hope Cemetery Following Chapel Service

"Funeral services were held at the Pearson & Gastler Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 1:30, for Richard Verch, age 46 years. Services were conducted by Rev. John Wollin pastor of the Moravian church, who also conducted the graveside service at Mount Hope cemetery, near Carver, where the burial took place. Pallbearers were Clifford Harmsen, Gust Brown, Herman Terwedo, Herbert Pleckenpool, William Jeurissen, and Otto Kettner.

Well known in Chaska because of having spent the greater part of his life in this immediate area. Richard Verch died on Wednesday, March 3rd, at 8:45 p.m., on a farm two miles south of Shakopee, operated by him and his brothers. Although he had been afflicated with bronchial asthma for the past serveral years, his death was attributed to heart attack. During the past serveral months his ailment of bronchial asthma was agrrevate to the extent that he was compelled to sleep upright in a chair.

Deceased was son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Verch and was born on a farm in Benton Township, Carver County, July 23.1902. After he grew to manhood he worked as a farm hand on various farms, always conscientious in his work because he believed in hard work. For several years he made his home in Chaska. Shorlty before his death he went to Scott county to make his home with his brother.

Survivors include several brothers and sisters.

The remains lay in state at the Pearson & Gastler Funeral Home until ther time of the funeral Monday."
