Herman Manteuffel Becomes Benedict
Waconia Patriot - April 26, 1917
Daughter of Prominet Farmer Now Wife of Local Businessman

"Last week Thursday, at two o'clock, occurred the wedding of Herman Manteuffel, one of Waconia's business men, and Miss Bertha Verch, daughter of Aug. Verch, well known farmer residing near Cologne. The ceremony took place at the Lutheran church two miles from Bongard, and the nuptial words were pronounced by Rev. Rewald, pastor of the church. Many friends witnessed the ceremony.

The Bridesmaids were Miss Emma Verch and Miss Emma Ehmke, while the groomsmen were Julius Manteuffel and Wm. Verch. Immediate relatives and friends were given a wedding dinner at the home of the bride Sunday, while at Waconia Mr. Manteuffel gave a party in the city hall where congratulations were extended.

They will make their home in the Herman Radde apartments on west First street. This paper heartily joins in the congratulations and hopes that their troubles be little ones."
