Sadness would befall August and Wihelmina in the summer of 1906, when their youngest son William "Willie" Wollin would die at the age of 15. Here is a newspaper article describing the event:

Norwood Times - June 21, 1906

"Died - Willie Wollin, the fifteen year old son of August Wollin who resides on a farm just east of town, died on Thursday June 14th after an illenss of about two weeks. The funeral occured Saturday and the remains were laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery at Young America. Rev. Baumhoefener officating. The funeral was largely attended and all had words of sympathy for Mr. and Mrs. Wollin and family. The Times wishes to join in sympathy with the others.

Mr. and Mrs. Wollin are hard working people and this loss of their son is indeed trying for them as he had arrived at the age when he would have been much help to them on the farm."
