Descendants of John Hodgkinson

Disclaimer: My grandmother, Irma Arvil Hoskins, provided me with many details (mostly names and dates) of her Hoskins ancestors. This was done back in the early to mid 1980's. She would recite names, dates, and places, and I would write them down. Starting with her father William Riley Hoskins, she would work backwards through time until she made it to James Hoskinson her great, great, great, great, great grandfather. Most of her notes were on scraps of notebook paper and committed to memory. This was before home computers and the Internet.

It wasn't until the late 1990's / early 2000's that I began researching the Internet for genealogical information. It was at that point I found a tremendous online site called Kentucky Kinfolk, which was created by David Hoskins from Houston, TX.

At some point I received a GEDCOM file from David Hoskins and imported it into my database to tie our family trees together. Therefore, any information found within my site related to John Hodgkinson of Preston Lancashire County, England 1615 all the way through until John Henry Hoskins of 1846, should be credited to the great work of David Hoskins.

His research is very impressive and where his ancestors head south by the time they reached Illinios, mine head north into Minnesota. John Henry Hoskins, who married Alice Almira Campbell in 1870, is our common ancestor that ties my relation to the Hoskin name and to that of David Hoskins lineage. I herein do not take any credit for the detailed information regarding the Hoskins family line. That credit belongs to David Hoskins.

David thank you for all work detailing out the Hoskins family ancestry.
